everytime i try to open a folder in a seperate partition send error report appears and temporary shuts down explorer.exe. also i recieve an error stating the exception integer division by zero. "(oxc0000094)occured in the application at location 0x045ddd11"
click on okay to terminate the program
click on cancel to debug the program.
so far it only does it on this one folder any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possible that folder is physically located on a bad sector. Have you run chkdsk on the drive partition where the problem exists?

Teach him to fish and you feed him for life.

What folder?
Is it Windows related? Is it a 3rd party program folder?
If its Windows related try this - cut and paste the folder to the desktop and then reboot. If Windows reloads a new copy of the folder, then it may be fixed. Try it, and then delete the copy on the desktop.
If it's a 3rd party program then uninstall the program and do a registry clean-up by using a good registry cleaner. Then if you want to reinstall the program - go for it.

i got the problem resolved it turns out that i installed opera as a web browser which gave an option of installing java in IE. for some reason a dll was missing or corrupt and created some sort of problem with IE. only in that particular folder your guess is as good as mine. i went to sunmicrosystems and re-installed java and so far it's working. here is the link that helped me solve the problem. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;273726

well i guess i spoke too soon now it's doing the same exact thing to another folder. i have three hard drives one being partitioned which is my c and d drive. the promblem is occuring on my d drive where my avi files are stored. i've done a chkdsk and nothing i've also done a sfc /scannow and nothing. after i reinstaled java the promblem stopped but, continued in another folder any other suggestions

i figured out what the promblem was once again. it turns out that it was only affecting avi files after doing research i found out it was an outdated codec that was corrupting my files. i've uninstalled the codec it was a mega pack supposedly with everything on it. and it now seems to work hopefully!!!!!!
