Whenever I close AOL Instant Messenger 5.9, an error pops up displaying the following message: "AOL Instant Messenger has encountered an error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." The two options I am able to select are Debug and Close. Either option will close the error without any further complications. Although I realize it is a minor occurrance, it is pretty annoying as I usually enter Standby upon exiting AIM, in which this error interrupts the process. Reinstalling the program did not help. I noticed my version of AOL IM does the same thing. One thing you might try is disabling error reporting through XP. Open System in Control Panel. On the Advanced tab, click Error Reporting. Click Disable error reporting. Also, in Control Panel, go into Administrative tools/Services/and see if you have a "Machine Debug Manager" - and set that to disabled. ty
