I've winXP running on AMD xp 1700+. I've Asus Goforce 200 video card. After leaving my computer on standby for a while, I get an error message saying "Error on nv_disp, and in a loop. Any one have any idea
Thanks.

Try updating to the latest Detonator Drivers for the nVidia graphics card. I have noticed similar things on Windows XP.
If that fails, try backrev'ing to the standard WinXP drivers for the graphics card.

This is the well know issue of the Nvidia Infinite loop problem. As the last post suggested try to update your detonator drivers to something more recent. And if you have the latest try and roll (or install) them back to a previous version because some may be more stable on your system than others. Do a search on google for "Nvidia Infinite loop" and there are many discussions on it. Here is just one thread from another forum

I have almost same problem.
I have an Athlon 1.2ghz, ECS K7S5A motherboard with newest bios installed, and geforce 2mx who knows what manufacturer. The nvidia detonator drivers it really doesn't like. And when i install the nvidia driver that appears when running win update, only make my computer freeze every 3-4min. This really gets me down (and my comp as well)

The 21.83 Detonator drivers do not have this problem I can confirm (the nv4_disp.dll stop error).
The Windows Update drivers do, however.
I am wary of moving from the 21.83s now.
If you have no joy with the latest certified drivers from nVidia then going back to 21.83 will stop this problem.
