have you bought the system pre-built?
if so, take it back.
or:
check the power and data cabling to the cd drive are both secure inside.
open BIOS and check that the drive is recognised and not disabled ; this will show up on the first screen in BIOS usually as IDE Channel 1, primary but any is fine. You should see the name of your drive as well as your hard drive located on these channels.

1st of all, turn off the CAPS lock.
2nd, who assembled your system? It sounds like the jumpers weren't configured properly on the back of the optical drive(s).
