Specs: Windows XP
In my attempt to backup All Data from the Windows XP PC hard to an External, There are Several Folders that Can Not be read. The Error message says Missing Shortcut.

It is Looking for the C:\ But I have Deleted all the Files from the C:\ that were backed up to the 750GB Hard Drive.

Now I can't Read the Folder.

WHAT do I do? Have I lost the Files? Can they be recovered?

I have aged since this dilemma. - Going Bald - and I am getting OLD.
Please Help before I expire ;-}

Thank you.

How did you do the backup. Did you just drag and drop / copy and paste, or did you use a backup software.

More than Likely I had used Drag and Drop.
I don't believe I have ever used a Copy and Paste in such Large Files.@ ~ 20-30GB per Folder.
So, to answer your question, I use Drag and Drop.
Are there Benefits or Dangers between using any of the three options you inquired?

Is it possible I could have unconsciously selected the wrong save option?
Can I correct my Dilemma?

Please keep me posted.
Thank you.
