LOL you need to reinstall the OS! why did you mess around with FDISK, this has either partitioned your drive OR erased a partition! You need to run FDISK again and make sure you have an active partition, then format and install your OS again!

That'll teach ya! LOL

Do you have a win98 boot disk?
At the A: prompt type fdisk and check out what you have then post back and we'll see what you can do!

Type
fdisk /status
If it works it should tell you what partitions you have on the drive.
If it can't access the drive, I suggest you go to the hard drive manufacturers web site and download a diagnostic.

when you run the fdisk, select I think option 3 or 4 - the one that gives you info on your partition! and see if you have an active partition! if you do it will tell what is partitioned, if you don't it will say no activ epartition!

It's sure worth a try. If you do an 'upgrade' install you shouldn't lose anything.

If you would prefer to save everything, I would try an 'upgrade' if you don't care about saving anything do a full.

You can delete your partition with a single click in fdisk.

Insert the Xp disk, restart and see what happens.

If setup asks you to install on unpartitioned space then you have removed your OS.

Post back with what you find during setup before going any further. Someone might be able to offer better/specific instructions for salvaging or replacing XP.

Fdisk recognized your drive, so the installation routine should also.
