16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application. I'm then asked to 'close' or 'ignore'.

Whatever I press closes the application anyway.

Hi Joe,

I followed the instruction by Microsoft Base Article -324767 and did exactly what it says step by step but it doesn't work.

I am looking everywhere for the %SYSTEMROOT%\System folder and I can't find it.

I went under Window Explorer and did a advanced search and it doesn't show up

I found "System32" folder but didn't see
%SYSTEMROOT%

I typed in "CMD" and did type what is says and pressed entered everytime.

Question Joe:
Is my "CMD" the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder?

I tried to paste on it but nothing happens.
Do you have any suggestion Joe?

Helma
