error message in WMP

I am having trouble burning a cd using Windows Media Player. When I click on the copy to cd or device button...I get an error message saying " interface not registered." I recently installed plus media editon for windows xp and later uninstalled it, I think this is when my problem started. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Click on start/run and type in sfc /scannow. That will replace any lost files or dll's
