Error installing XP on Vista

I have bought compaq presario v 6615en with a pre installed Vista Home premium, Now I want to install windows xp on it, and it says no hardisk found, ...... I went to BIOS to change SATA settings but in my laptop in system configuration there is no OPTION for enabling and disabling of SATA. I dont know what to do now. Please help me in this regard

well you were on the right track....you need to find the sata controller drivers (manufacturer's website >driver/download). It must be one for the XP operating system and you will need to set it up to install from a floppy (if you have one) or from the cd/dvd. Then you will need to install the driver through the F6 method that is prompted right after the Boot from CD option is offered!
