When trying to install Office 2000 on my new computer with WinXP I get an error message 1911 "unable to register file type..." I get this for a couple dozen different .dll files (OWSDSC.dll, graph9.dll, msowc.dll, etc.) The microsoft work around for error 1911 dealing with too fast of CD did not help. My computer came pr-loaded with Word 2002 and Window Works. I've looked for an Office Cleaner but have not found one for Office 2000 compatible with WinXP. Any ideas?

Are you saying that Microsoft says the CD is Too Fast for the CPU to handle it?? Wow! That's a new on on me! I am sure that I am misunderstanding what you are saying.
Well, if that is really the reason, get a slower CD to install and then go back to your original for running the programs.

Here is what they say;
"Cause 2 This behavior can occur when your computer's CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive reads data too quickly for the computer to process. "
I tried installing over my home network from a drive I know is slow. It didn't help.
