I got this blue screen message DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OREQUAL and then today I got PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
I dont know what is causing this. I thought it was my RAM because I was running only 256 and it was the wrong bus speed, so now I just put in a Gig or the right stuff and I still have the problems. I had a real hard time even getting the thing to boot up today. Sometimes I will just be browsing and the screen goes black then to the blue screen dumping my physical memory and giving me one of these type messages.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OREQUAL is nearly always dut to a hardware error.
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA suggests a memory problem. Could be the RAM itself or a problem with the paging file which is stored on the hard disk. I would opt for the RAM. Sudden crashes like you describe is probably a memory problem.
Have you looked in the Event Viewer. Will give you more information as to what went wrong.

I agree, it's likely bad memory.
I don't know how many sticks or in what configuration, but take the old memory out and put the new in (make sure to install it properly according to the motherboard!!) and see if that gets rid of the BSOD's.
Need more help? Alert me,
J.

I just got two sticks of 512 2100 266mhz ram. I had this problem with the 256 2700 333mhz ram too. the thing is my motherboard only was designed for the 2100 266mhz. So thats why i switched, the motherboard is supposed to be able to handle 1gig ram.

Well that should fix it for ya. Just make sure your motherboard can handle the memory. Check your documentation for exact specifications of TYPE and HOW TO INSTALL.
Very important, you can't just throw stick of memory in a computer and pray...well ok maybe you can... =)
J.

I guess I didnt specify, I already installed the new ram, and I still have the same problems with the blue screen messages as I did with the old ram.

There may be an issue (such as bug in BIOS software) with your motherboard accepting more than X MB of RAM or higher than Y MHz bus speed despite the specification.
It maybe that a bug such as this could be fixed by re-flashing your BIOS with a newer version. Look on your motherboard manufacturer's website for BIOS upgrades and follow their instructions TO THE LETTER. The board will either have a utility for flashing in Windows, a LiveUpdate utility or if not you will need a DOS disk (often made by the flash package).
Is there a chance that the motherboard itself could be faulty?
Also, are you sure you aren't mixing RAM types or using the wrong type. I know when I got my laptop second hand it took EDO SODIMMS but came upgraded with SD-RAM SODIMMS. Not surprisingly, it caused IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA when it tried to access the RAM above 32MB (the first 32MB are SODIMMS fixed to the motherboard).

Had exactly same prob with friends PC,
took mem out then put it back in, still had probs. gave up for night.Went back few days later, spent much time pulling hair out, was just about to give up, thought will check mem stick one last time, looked at it HARD, replaced it and everything was ticketyboo.
Just a simple case of badly seated mem...
Hope that is all with yours too...
