Hello,
Have an ERROR CODE 39 problem with my scanner.
It's a brandnew Canoscan Lide90 that I've already tested on my Mac and works well.On my Nec laptop (Pentium M, 1m5ghz / 1.2gb of Ram) it doesn't work.
I've tried several things.
Install the drivers from the CD-Rom
Install the latest drivers from Canon web
De-install the drivers and reboot and see what happens (not much!).Basicly, on my computer's manage console, there's the image device folder with my Canoscan that the computer can see but can't make it work (thus the code 39 error).
What could I do to resolve this problem?
Again, I've already installed, rebooted, unintall the drivers several times, and they are the latest. Thanks!

Since it is new, I would be contacting the Manufacturer's Tech Support by Phone.

So, the scanner works no problem on OSX so it's really something that's going wrong in my Laptop (registry or something I guess).
I've first installed the drivers, then when asked, I plugged the USB. Done it several times (once with the original CD-Rom, then with the latest drivers I downloaded from Canon web).
Thanks

Try installing any XP drivers from Canon's website.
Drivers on your CD may be corrupted for XP, and not for MAC. ???

Read my previous message: I downloaded the latest drivers from Canon website. They don't work. It must be something in my OS that's going wrong

There are lots of USB devices, including scanners and printers, that won't work correctly if they're plugged into a hub, as in one of multiple USB ports connected to one port directly connected to the mboard. If it isn't plugged directly into a USB port on the laptop, try plugging it into one (you may have to re-install the scanner again).
If that works and you don't have enough directly connected ports for all devices to work (e.g. a printer will often not work correctly plugged into a hub) get yourself a USB controller adapter card with 2 or more ports if you have a PCMCIA slot.

I've tried both on my hub and on the laptop.
On the Mac I tried on the hub and it worked right away.Thanks.
