Error accessing folder properties

I am unable to access the folder properties box in any way shape or form. I am administrator on the machine, and have full access to all the drives. Any information appreciated - this is driving me mad!

Try accessing those from SAFE MODE logged in as administrator.
Sounds like someone turned off the admins ability to do such tasks. Curious kids are known to wreak such havoc on mom or dads computer. Been there, done all that!

I have the same problem. I am not able not only to reach folder properties, but even sharing of a folder. Moreover, I have inactive panel in control panel/folder options/file types. All buttons (new, advanced, change, delete) are greyed. I cannot make any new file association with program. So I am mad twice ... ;-). Any idea?
