I work for an ISP helpdesk, and since they seem incapable of providing any kind of guidance to staff, I'll turn to the experts. :)
One of the most frequent problems I deal with is people who have corrupted or incompatible network protocols. I'm aware that in this regard, XP is similar to Win2k, but I don't know what to do in that scenario either.
My basic question is simple:
How does one remove and re-install the network protocols in Windows XP?And:
How does one fix error 732 on Windows XP?Any guidance is much appreciated.

Here is one answer for the WinXP error codes
Google can be very helpful732 Your computer and the remote computer could not agree on PPP control protocols
Start / control panel / network connections / right click for properties of the network connection / highlight the TCP/IP entry and choose install / add what is needed from the choices there.
If NetBeui is needed / on the WinXP CD there is the ValueAdd folder /msft / net / netbeui and follow the txt file for the addition of Netbeui to the protocol choices.
This may help the commun9ication issue.
Enabling NetBios over TCP/IP and enabling Guest account Make sure all workgroup names are the same.Good Luck
