A lot of setup programs that use Installshield receive this error at the end of installation: Error 1628: Failed to complete Installation. I have tried everything suggested on the forum and I am still plagued by this problem. Reinstalling the install shield application itself, being an administrator, or even repairing XP does not fix this error for me. I have a lot of apps that I cannot install :( So, starting from the beginning, can anyone think of a way to fix this without reinstalling XP? I am desparate!

Sorry, No Dice. All settings are correct. I cannot figure this out and it's driving me crazy!

I have the exact same problem, i think it can be fixed with re-installing sp1, but i have a 64k connection, so someone test this out first? How come microsoft makes downloadable installers for its other operating systems, but not xp, it just sucks! Cartman, please tell me if you get it to work.
