Could my recent attemps at opening a home network with the xp network wizard have something to do with all this insanity...almost as if every past click of the mouse I ever did repeats itself on my screen ...any help would be great as I can not download any important material to cd because of this....this....thing! lol. Thank you. Mouse jumps all over the place...programs shut down without notice...right click options appear all over the screen at times, start menu options pop up...ok to delete files or program messages appear...sound familiar to anyone? Please help.

is this a track ball or an optical mouse? If it's a trackball, have you cleaned it lately? I am always amazed (or grossed out) by how much junk collects in there. Clean the ball, clean the posts, etc. also, have you updated the drivers? Have you tried another mouse? Maybe this one is on the way out:)
