Solved Erased sound controller, no sound from CD or DVD played

Specs: Windows XP, 2 GB
By mistake I erased the axsaki scsi controller, now no sound comes out from PC.
Please help

That has nothing to do with sound, it's the SCSI controller:

You must have done something else besides just erasing that. Besides, you didn't "erase" it, it will more than likely come back when you reboot. Whether you actually need it for anything is something else.

Try reinstalling your sound drivers.

Thanks for the answer.
Maybe what I did was to uninstall some program and then the sound went off. The Devise Manager shows a yellow alarm sign next to the axsaki scsi controller. Is that a better description?. Please give me another tip.

Eureka!!, HP gave me an unexpected solution that achieved your advise. I went to Start, then System Tools, Restoring System and there I chose the date when I erased the programs. That was all. Thanks anyway.
