Hello,

I believe you can recommend me a tool that can be used to restore erased file on NTFS. The file is of value to me, and there are many recovery tools, but I wish to know the most reliable one?

I take it you have looked in the Recycle Bin?

Top right hand corner of this screen. Data recovery tools. In the meantime don't use the computer with the deleted file on it as you lessons the chance of recovery.

System restore only cover system files essential to XP - it doesn't restore personal files erased.

Active@ Undelete is indeed a great tool. It's last version even allows to use special boot-disk if you can not boot normally and restore vital files
