CPU/Ram: AMD Athlon XP 2400+

Hello, I'm keep on reieving this message every time I start up my laptop ''Entry Point Not Found in Msvcrt.dll File'' and it will not load windows - I have tried doing this solution '' http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=265037 ''
But every time I do it, it always seems to say 'Access is denied', can any one help?
