I seem to be getting this weird error when I click on "View System Information" in My Computer. It says: "rundll32.exe - Entry Point Not Found. The procedure entry point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located in dynamic link lib. WINSTA.dll". Does anyone know what this is or how I can get rid of it? Thanks.

winsta.dll is an OK file; probably corrupted. When you get the error message
"the procedure entry point remote assistance prepare sytem restore could not be located in the dynamic library winsta.dll."; then from all accounts the following fix applies......

got this fix from microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support

1. In My Computer, click the Tools menu -> Folder Options.
2. On the View tab, make sure to check the option "Hide extensions for
known file types".
3. Click OK.
4. Click the Start menu -> Run. Type "%windir%\inf" (Without quotation
marks) in the Open field. Click OK.
5. Locate and select the file "sr.inf". Right-click it and then click
Install.

worked great system restore is back on if anybody else has the same problem try it
thats for the help

OK. Here's what I did that fixed it. I went to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and installed a bunch of fixes. I figure that this may have happened because I reinstalled Windows.

I always presume updates are current - silly me; and yes; that info about reinstalling windows would have been useful.
Glad to hear it's up and running; that's the main thing.

Shame though; thats a great fix
