Is it possible to encrypt my outlook express emails (received and sent)and or my whole (80GB) hard drive, so that if someone stole my computer that data would be inaccessable? I have the free (25MB max encrypted file) version of cryptainer, but I don't think I use it to do the above.

thanx

cipher is built into XP to encrypt files/folders on NTFS.

For syntax, type:

cipher /?

Just wondering...there is no ciphere.exe on this PC. Is this because I'm using XP Home (SP2) in lieu of XP Pro?

Hi Mech You're rite it's supposed to be part of XP SP2. I have SP2 but no cipher.exe. I think cipher has something to do with EFS which is possible only with XP Pro. I was just curious..it's no big deal :-)
