in win98 I could see the thumbnail of a picture on the left side of the windows explorer when selecting a picture (jpeg/gif, but no tif??!). but in winxp there is no such possibility, or is there one? the same with html files-I want to see a thumbnail of the html file in windows explorer when selecting (clicking once on)a file in a folder.

Click on the "Folders" button in the tool bar. The folder list will disappear and be replaced by a preview pane. When you are done you can turn the folder list back on.
