When attempting to reenable Fast User Switching I get a message that a recently instal;led program has disabled this feature. I also get a hint that points to msgina.dll The only program i suspected would be the culprit is Cisco VPN v4 that has since been removed but the Old Style Login screen remains. I tried replacing msgina but still no change. How do I get the novice friendly login page back?

Is it probable that the VPN software altered the msgina.dll file? I was hoping to be able to tweak a setting in the registry to get back to the normal Welcome screen.

Fix Windows XP Logon/Restore Welcome Screen

Usage: Download XP_FixLogon.ZIP and save this file to your hard drive. Navigate to where you saved it and double click the file. Extract XP_FixLogon.exe from the zip file and double click it. The program will tell you if repairs are needed or not.

This utility checks for the correct GINA value in the Registry and will allow you to restore it, if its incorrect.
