I have an ATI All in Wonder card and currently can watch/record cable TV on my PC. Anyway, I'm going to be switching to Dish or Direct TV, and still want to be able to do the same thing. I would rather not have to get another receiver for my computer. Is there any software or way that I can use my PC to emulate a satellite receiver so I can just hook the cable directly to my ATI card? I've heard that there is, but havn't been able to find it. I have also heard that there is software that emulates the cards to unlock all of the channels. That would be cool, but not my main concern. Thanks for any help!

Your decoder must support DTV for it to work. After you are sure of it, look for SoftDecoder 2.0, and it will work for you.

You will appear more intelligent if you use these words properly: Lose, Loose, Accept, Except.

I think it's not a matter of being legal. The receiver card in your computer is not setup for microwave reseption. And then there's the smartcard security device.
Besides the dish network 2 receiver setup is so cheap why not just go that route? You come off the audio and video outputs from the second receiver to the all in one card. It even has an optical output for the sound if you're wanting to get real fancy.
