I have a problem regarding an anoying popup at the start (logon) of windows. Just after entering the password and clicking the relevant button to logon a popup appears out of nowhere. There is no text or explanation why this happens on the small popup (error like) message, just an completely empty box with Yes or No.

I'm not a completely unfamiliar with the operating system nor computers in general, but somehow i can't seem to figure this one out.

This problem started about a week ago. I have tried to remove all posible adware/spyware with a few programs like Adware 6 and Norton Antivirus 2004... nothing seems to work. I have even run scandisk several times in both normal and safe mode, makes no difference. I have also looked through the startup registy and cant find anything that should not be there.

Personally i don't think that this affects anything on operational level, but it's extremely anoying to have to click NO everytime i log on to the system.

I would be forever grateful if some wise person would advise me how to get rid of this error popup. Thanks in advance!!!

Check your Startup folder, Start > Programs > Startup. Anything unusual?

Failing that, run MSCONFIG and look at the Startup tab, again, check for anything out of the norm.

Some people are like Slinkies™, not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs...

Thanks,

but i've liiked through the startup, msconfig and even ran services.msc. Nothing that seems to be out of order.

This problem doesn't seem to be in the safe mode logon.

Are you sure it's not a legit system window and that you haven't got problems with your graphics/display drivers?
