Embedded WMP causes browser crash

Whenever an embedded windows media player opens in my browser , be it IE or Firefox, and attempts to stream, the browser crashes. Please help!

Luke Gregory, the most obvious possibility is a corrupted copy of WMP. Just to rule that out, think I'd get rid of the current one and download/install another. Beyond that, I'm drawing a blank.
