email attatchment problems

I'm having problems opening attatchments from emails received in yahoo mail. It scans for viruses, (there are none) once clicking open it says getting file information but will not open. the file type is wordpad, please help.

I don't understand much about computer jargon! the attatchment says unit 364.doc(36KB) I have never had a problem before opening emails of this sort, hope this helps!

If you are using Internet explorer. Open internet explorer > Tools Menu> Internet options> Security tab>custom level> Download > Enable File download option. Click OK. And then you should check.

I am using interent explorer, i have done this and it still does not work, there is noe information regarding estimated time left, download to or transfer rate. It also will not allow me to save the download

You should try to this---
Open the mail and select the attachment. Right click > Save targets as > Save the attachment on the desktop and then try to right click open.

OK, You should open yahoo mail in Mozilla browsing and than check. If problem still same then it may be spyware problem. You can download and install Malwarebytes and scan your computer in Safe Mode. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php.
If attachment is opening in Mozilla, that means this is the problem with Internet explorer. You should reset your internet explorer or reinstall.
You can also check after disable Firewall setting.
