hi, my grandaughter just got a laptop with
xp manufacturer installed.the problem is,i sent her e-mail with a pic attachment but shecannot open it.anyone help please?

How to get Windows to stop blocking e-mail attachments in Outlook Express

Open OE > Tools > Options, select the Security tab, take the tick out of "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus".

What is the extension, file extension. of that file ??

She may not have a program that can open that file.

File extention is the 3 letters after the file name,and after the dot. e.g-- Computing.net

What is the file extention you have ???

Like I said before, here is a list of extentions and what type they are--
A list of file types

If your computer does not show the extention, then try this--
In Windows Explorer or Control Panel,
click Tools in the Menu bar,
click Folder Options,
click View tab,
in Advanced Settings list, find and uncheck the box for "Hide extenstions for known file types".

Also to say that I have a Relative that e-mails
a PPS file to me. I cannot open such a file.

According to the File Type like above PPS is--

.PPS PowerPoint Slideshow (filename extension).

And I would need a program that will run
PowerPoint Slideshow

hi, i think i am with you now,the picture
i sent is a PPS file,which i had no problem
opening when it was sent to me with my wi98s.e,so any ideas,can i change it to a
picture that she can open,sorry if i sound thick,but i am.
