eMachine restore cd for XP

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition
I am trying to boot my CD from the only disc I have which is a restore CD from eMachines. When I put this CD in it gives me select choices that I can not select. Then the screen selects the second choice for me but then goes to an A:\> drive "request'? I was getting the load Dlls for kernel message and was trying to follow the instructions that someone in your community suggested. This third party stuff is bogus. Mircosoft says go to eMachines and eMachines says go to MS. I then get a floppy disc from MS and just when I think I have solved the problem when I put in the second disc I get the \ntkrnlmp.exe Code 7 error. How can I reset my BIOS under these conditions?

You can reset your BIOS to the default by pulling out the battery for a few seconds, then reinstall it.
