In any game where I enabled EAX or EAX 2...
The game has a possibility of later making a sundden "stutter" noise and go blue for a split second and restart my computer. This only happens with EAX... it will not do this with dobly surround or miles or anyhting else.

This sound card I have is Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. And it supports EAX and EAX 2 as it says. How do I fix this it is really frustraiting as EAX sound awsome. My sound card, BIOS, and gfz card are updated to the lastest drivers!

Please help me so I can get cool EAX!

ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB DDR

Dark29delx: a few ideas that might help with EAX;

1. check for the latest game patch.

2. try the Unified Drivers.

3. lower the graphics hardware acceleration to the basic level.
this setting can be found by going to: Start, Control Panel, Display, Settings tab, Advanced button, Troubleshoot tab, Apply, OK.
Reboot.

4. Run: dxdiag
and do the sound tests.
latest version of DirectX available at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx

5. try adjusting or deleting some of your user preference settings.

let us know what worked for you...
