Now i keep getting at start up of windows a message saying the device wont work properly, and it has been disabled. I have tried uninstalling the programme, and deleteing all registry setting to do with easy cd, and adaptec. This should take care of it. You can always undo the Restore, too. So i guess if none of the above fixes work then try some of the following: (1) Boot up and install it again (if it lets u of course) then log out and go into safe mode and then uninstall it. (2) See if u can copy it from the XP disk, so u can get the original back (not sure of this will work but when ya deperate you'll try anything!) (XP is what you make it!) Here's how I fixed it - download the free Easy CD Creator 5.1 Basic 90 day trial from Roxio's website. Install the trial, then uninstall. The trial will remove all files associated with Easy CD Creator and clean up the system. I just finished clearing the same problem. There are two files being called from the registry. "cdralw2k.sys" and "cdr4_2k.sys". Search the registry for these file names and delete each occurence. This fixed my problem and my system is fine.

I got that from a web search (have the same problem). I havent tried it yet, but I'm confident it will work... Hello I have hade the same problem, you say that the salotiuons above hasent solved your problem. they helpt me to find a kombination that works. furst find and remove the foloving files: cdr4vsd.sys cdralw2k.sys cdr4dll.dll cdr4_2.sys move them to a temp dir first. then sertch the regestry (regedit) and remove all referenses to: adaptec, easy cdcreator, cdr4vsd,cdralw2k,cdr4dll,cdr4_2, after that you will have to restart two times than you shold be read of the anoying problem i was god luck.
