Reply: This happens sometimes when programs you have running in the background crash as they're exiting. Try manually shutting down any programs that you have configured to start when you boot up. Shut one of them down at a time, then try to shutdown the system. Repeat this until the problem goes away - that might isolate the one that's giving you trouble Go to start/run/type msconfig startup tab disable all items And see if it happens.. Then go back there and enable only necessary items... Hope it helps
