dvd-rom thinks all is audio

CPU/Ram: pIII 450/192

Problem is that dvd-rom says every single cd, dvd, i put in is a audio cd ... It always says that there is a track of 44 bytes. The driver is ok!

I might be wrong but there are two ways to access DVD's. One is a software and the other being a hardware solution. Do you have either?
