heres one for ya. I got an AMD machine which has 2 dvd rewriters on and 2 hard drives. All are set up fine (masters, slaves etc)I had them setup as hard drives on primary and dvd drives on secondary ide cables. But this way the dvd's were not reading anything, no blanks no real copies, nothing. Having tried every which way i found that if i put one hard drive and one dvd drive on each ide cable it works, windows reads the cd and dvds from the drives. but now another problem has occured, Both dvd drives write cd's perfectly fine but will not write any dvd's, they just keep coming back with irrecoverable read error in nero. The dvd drives are : LG GSA-4040B Pioneer 108 Please help coz i keep making coasters outta my dvds

Hey there... Hope it's not too late for an answer... I have had the same pb... I solved it by fashing my dvd writers to latest firmware and by changing the dvd media brand...
