On my network at school I can download full length AVI movies that are only like 600-700 mb's long. How do they convert a DVD to only a 700 mb AVI file?

best place to go is http://www.doom9.org Download the Gordian Knot Rippack. If you want less work but worse quality, goto http://easydivx.does.it and dl that. Both require a good system and a DVD drive
