dvd sucks after upgrade!!!!!!!

Installed xp upgrade to my computer and then the DVD wouldn't work. Went out and got the drivers, but now the dvd sucks and plays movies really bad. How can I fix this problem?

Other than the DVD troubleshooter, you can only try to reduce background processes. Make sure your system is set to workstation not server. Delete the drive and reboot and hope that it will resolve the problem.

What does that mean? Tell us what exactly is going wrong and we might be able to help. Did you do an upgrade install of XP or a clean install?

Installed XP from a upgrade disk. Everything went smoothly from there then a icon showed up for DVD driver update. Did that, now my DVD sucks. It is really choppy and acts like the video can't handle it anymore. I know the drive works fine and I tried more than one DVD.
