I recently installed a NEC ND-1000a drive in my desktop, now it will only play CDs and not DVDs. I'm using WinDVD 4. When I try to play in WinDVD I get an error telling me to reduce the resolution or screen size, but when I do I get the same error. Also when I try and play through Win Media Player 9 it tells me that my computer is not configured to play DVDs. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing has worked. Please Help!

In my opinion, WinDVD is crap. I couldn't get anything to play in WinDVD either.

Try installing zome other DVD program.
Win Media Player won't play DVD's if you have certain codec's (pack's) installed.

Another thing to check is that you have the DVD drivers updated
