My dvd rom was working perfectly until recently when it has stopped reading any cd's and dvd's. It ejects ok, shows in my computer ok, shows in device manager ok but for somehow doesn't read any cd's or dvd's. its a dvd/rw combo drive. problem occured when i tried to copy a cd by sending files manually to the drive by right clicking on file and then send to f: drive. May be that was a wrong thing to do.

Use a disc cleaner. If this still does not work, try to find updated drivers (although it should use generic drivers).
Failing that, it is time to buy a new CD/DVD Rom drive.
