Why does ME have a DVD programme and a very expensive XP professional does not?

What's wrong with using Media Player in XP, it runs DVDs.

As far as i know..........
Me doesn't have a "dvd program". Heres a link with a registry hack to enable dvd playback in Win Me's media player. Your WinME PC or DVD ROM may have shipped with a dvd program like windvd or powerdvd but its not part of the OS.
And according to this article XP doesnt allow dvd playback without 3rd party software installed.
keep in mind that if youve purchased a winXp preloaded PC with a DVDROM the PC vendor has installed the required 3rd party software to enable dvd playback via media player.
