Uninstall them in device manager and reboot. If that doesn't work do it again after disconnecting and boot and reconnect them to the ide ribon.

go to Disk Management and see if you need to assign them a drive letter. check your event viewer logs for bootup errors concerning them. Are you ready for where Microsoft wants you to go today?
