Since I've formated my drive a couple of times and finally got xp to work, (with alot of good advice from this site) I have lost my player to watch regular dvd movies. Is there any freeware out there I can use until I can buy some. Everything I find is for mpeg or avi or divx. Xp movie player doesn't do the trick. thx

couple of trial versions available (probably 30 day types)

try
http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/products/product_order.jsp?ProdId=28#free (lets you watch 30 minutes worth)
or
http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Product_Download.jsp?p=WinDVD (lets you watch 5 minutes worth)

could be others around but most will have time limiters imposed
