Hi I have a DVD burner and it says DVD +/-RW, what recording media will work with it? I've seen and read so much on here searching until I'm confused and just want to purchase the right kind. I guess I would like to try and burn dvd movies (if possible) and maybe copy data from pc to dvd (and rewrite later on down the road if possible). As you can tell I really don't even know what I can do with this dvd burner. Any help would be much appreciated.

First of all till you're sure what you're doing burn dvd-rw's. A 10 pack will set you back about $12.00. As for it being a +/- burner you should be able to burn just about any kind of dvd disc. + you can do multi session. - is a one shot disc. - is best for making movies while + is best for data.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

Thanks! Any particular name brand and will the packaging have +RW on it? And will one shot version you mention have the - on them? I guess now what I'm wanting to know is if you could suggest a name brand for both types you mentioned and what it will say on the product when I go to purchase them.

The DVDs will be marked as:
DVD-R Records only once
DVD-RW Rewriteable

Or the other format:
DVD+R Records only once
DVD+RW Rewriteable

Your recorder can use any of the above.

I have no recommendation on a brand.

Hi GregS,

Try newegg.com, for RIDATA ( RITEK) DVD disc.

This is a very good brand at a good price.

Have not made a coaster as yet.

MoR.
