I have a Dell Inspiron 4100 and the dvd drive won't work. In the device manager it says:"Windows cannot load device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing.(code39)". I have checked the dell website but since I can't use the drive to reinstall anything from cd-rom I don't know what to do. Is there somewhere I can download the driver? Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated!

Sorry no suggestions but I just have had the same thing happen to my two cd drives. Windows said it is protecting itself by not loading the drivers. Likewise I cannot reinstall the drives because I cannot use the cd drive. I have been to the manufacturer's website but the drivers do not seem to help. They just tell me what I already know which is that it cannot find my CD Drive. PLEASE HELP!!!!
