DVD drive will not write

i have a Dell Dimension 2350.
My Optortie DD0203 CD/DVD writer for some reason just stop burning Cd's and DVd's i have tried using differant software but still the DVD rom/writer will not write. yes it read cd/dvd i can play a dvd in it
I notice i view the driver details both CD-rom/writer which came with my pc and the dvd/cd write that i brought uses the same drivers.
primary controller 1
The HL-DT CD-RW GCE-8481B is master
the Optorite DVD-rw DD0203 is slave
enver know it setup like this it as work before while setup like this please help me out

i even tried reinstalling windows home xp
still DVD drive will not write

Tell more about "will not write". Like when you compile a new compilation, and then you would click "Burn" right? what happend after that?
