Before my computer goes into standby mode, my DVD drives work fine. After waking from standby, my DVD-ROM drive (toshiba) will not work. Whatever state it was in before the system entered standby is the state it stays stuck in. (If there was no CD in it, it won't recognize a CD being put in it. If there was a CD in it, it won't recognize the CD being removed or another CD being put in.) If I try to access the drive in My Computer, it says the device is not accessible. I also cannot right click and eject the drive.
Everything works properly before the system goes into standby and will work again if I reboot. My DVD-RW drive is not affected. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, with no luck.

Thats very strange, it maybe a BIOS problem with the system / motherboard. I would suggest researching updated bios for your motherboard and read the update fixes to see if this is a known issue.
