Sometimes when I reboot...but not always..my second dvd drive is either not found at all or it`s name is corrupt(it`s a pioneer dvr 109) I have entered setup at boot and sometimes the bios recognises the drive and sometimes it doesn`t...any ideas?
Thanks

Have you checked the cables? I'd do that first..

are you running roxio ez cd creator by chance? if so, update it, there is a known bug that does this. if not, do a windows update anyway as there may be a windows hardware patch for your drive

if you have more than one cd/dvd devive make sure your jumpers are set to master/slave in stead of cable select. Also, check your event log and see if any errors are listed. hell it may be real simple, you might just need to flash your bios but only do thaqt as a last resort as you can really F up your system if it were to fail.
