DVD decoder file(s)?

Specs: Windows XP, 1.297 GHz / 1023 MB
I have a (Win XP Pro) laptop with a new DVD+RW Drive - but I need compatible Dvd decoder file(s)...

Where are they stored please?

Can I copy them off my (Win XP Pro )PC, and use them on my Laptop?

not really sure of what you are asking. If it's a new DVD writer, it should have come with a CD

It came with nothing - when I try yo play a DVD - it tells me that I need a compatible DVD decoder.......etc........

Then you have to get some dvd software from somewhere. My burners always come with everything

Try VLC media player. It's free and has the codecs for playing DVD's
