My dvd and cd-burner worked fine before I installed Roxio easycd creator 5.0 platium. After that, it would detect my cds drives and I uninstalled it. Somehow, my cds drive doesn't work anymnore, window XP pro could not fix it. The problem is: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). plz show me how to fix it.

Have you tried using System Restore to go back to a point when everything worked? Also, if System Restore doesn't work...try disabling the device from device manager and let Windows redetect it and reinstall the drivers that way. And lastly, get rid of EZCD Creator...it's the crappiest piece of burning software out there. Get Nero + CloneCD for nearly all your burning needs.

Open Regedit, and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{ 4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Verify over in the right pane that you're looking at your CD drives. Check for values named Lowerfilters Upperfilters If found, delete them. Reboot your system, and see if your drives have reappeared. Good luck
