I have a Lite-on 8x dvd burner. I have 8x compatable blank dvds. You would think the combination of the two would mean that I could burn at 8x...but no. It will only let me burn at 2.4x. Does anyone know why?

Have you checked for firmware updates from your writers website? Is your writer working in dma mode?

DVD-RW's burn at 2.4x. Is this what you're using?

I have updated it with the latest firmware. No it is not a dual layer burner. I am using DVD+R discs. Any other questions?
