Reply: (edit)I'm not sure that Nero is Dolby digital capable, at least the old version anyway. They just came out with a big update which you can download and try. If not then I know that PINNACLE 9 is dolby capable. (It's one of the reasons I use it).

Reply: (edit)Nothing special. The movie must be coded in dolby however. If the movie is recorded in dolby and you capture BOTH the left and the right channels then the playback equipment that you use (if capable) will decode as necessary. In other words, all information required is coded into the left and right channels.

Reply: (edit)Sorry, I should also add that the SOURCE that you are capturing from must have good stereo separation as well. Your capture will never be any better than the source. Proper left and right recording balance is also very important. The dolby information is decoded from the left and right channels by (simple explination) adding and subtracting the left and right channels to and from each other at proper times and levels to achieve the other channels. It is for this reason that good stereo separation, and proper recording level be maintained.

Reply: (edit)The only thing I can suggest at this point is to try a different burning program. As I said in an above post, I use Pinnacle 9.4 because it will record in dolby digital (AC3). And as I have said previously, I don't know if Nero supports the TRUE dolby digital. It may only support Dolby pro logic surround. (This is the older and original version of Dolby 5.1 sound.) The new Dolby Digital known as AC3 (Audio code 3) is completely different. For a better understanding of the Dolby systems go to this link: http://timefordvd.com/tutorial/SurroundSound.shtml
